The Montrose Recreation District is very fortunate to have 7 skilled community members who are willing to donate their time and efforts to ensure our organization maintains and continues to improve quality, innovative recreation services, and facilities. They meet on a monthly basis to discuss programming, review finances, and generally ensure the community is being served.
Board members serve elected, 4-year terms and approve major purchases and contracts, and adopt policies - including the annual budget, and other governing rules that help the District to run - and connect directly to the community on parks and recreation needs and issues. These are elected, volunteer positions, with Directors receiving no compensation. Board elections are held in odd years, on the first Tuesday of May, by all eligible voters of the Recreation District. Montrose Recreation District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Montrose Recreation District
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. We welcome
feedback and can often resolve issues in a timely manner if they arise.
