I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico where I earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Vickie and I moved to Montrose in 1983, and have raised two children in this community. We are lucky to have them, their wonderful spouses and our awesome grandchildren here where we can regularly share in their lives.
As a kid I had many opportunities to camp, fish and hike in the mountains of northern New Mexico. I skied, played ice hockey and swam competitively. I worked as a lifeguard, swimming instructor and swimming coach. As a young adult, I coached swimming and skiing for the NM chapter of Special Olympics and trained in Kenpo Karate. After becoming a father, I coached t-ball, baseball, basketball, roller and ice hockey, and soccer. With my kids and grandkids, I have trained in Tae Kwon Do and Shotokan karate. Today I enjoy boating, camping, hiking, cycling, nordic and downhill skiing. I find nothing more peaceful and enjoyable than standing in a stream flipping flies, especially when I get to share it with my grandkids, other family members, and friends. Vickie and I are avid travelers looking for the next adventure together.

The Montrose Recreation District has been a constant and integral part of our family's lives. Through the years, members of our family have participated in a myriad of Rec activities, programs and have even been employed by the District. My goal as a member of the Board is to support the District in continuing to provide outstanding facilities and excellent programs for all of our citizen's recreational opportunities.
