All swim courses and instructors are certified by the American Red Cross. Not all courses are available each lesson time. Please check the schedule for specific course sessions and times. Swimming skills are modified or adapted to accommodate individual abilities, needs, and goals. Lessons are created for, but not limited to , those with physical, cognitive, behavior, communication and/or sensory disabilities. We aim to foster independence while providing positive recreational and educational experience.

Private Lessons offer a one-to-one instructor/student ratio. Semi-Private Lessons offer a one to two instructor/student ratio. Students must sign-up together as there is no waitlist. Private lessons are offered during public swim hours and must be arranged through the Aquatic Coordinator.
Semi Private Lessons are $21 per 1/2 hour session per child. Three lesson minimum.
Private Lessons are $30 per 1/2 hour session. Three lesson minimum.
PARENT & TOT: This course is designed for children 6 months to 3 years of age and their parents. Classes build swimming readiness by emphasizing fun in the water.
PRESCHOOL LEVELS 1-3: (Ages 4 and 5 years) These classes teach the foundations for learning to swim and being safe in and around water to children who are not yet school age. Children are taught floating, glides, arm and leg action, submerging, rolling front to back and back to front, blowing bubbles and rhythmic breathing. Prerequisite for Preschool 3: Able to put face in the water and with assistance, child should be able to glide and roll front to back to front and float on back for 15 seconds.
LEVEL 1 - INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLS:(Ages 6-17 years) Learn basic personal water safety information & skills; to help participants feel comfortable in the water & to enjoy the water safely including: enter/exit water safely, submerge exhale & open eyes underwater, roll over with support, explore floating on front/back with support, swimming using arm & leg actions with support & use of a life jacket.
LEVEL 2 - FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS:(Ages 6-17 years) Success with fundamental skills. Learn to float without support and recover to a vertical position. Participants continue to explore simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back to lay the foundation for future strokes.
LEVEL 3 - STROKE DEVELOPMENT:(Ages 6-17 years) Learn the survival float, backstroke and coordinate the front crawl. Introduce the scissors and dolphin kick and build on the foundations of treading water. Rules for headfirst entries from the side of the pool.
LEVEL 4 - STROKE IMPROVEMENT:(Ages 6-17 years) Develop confidence and skill in the strokes and increase endurance by swimming familiar strokes (front crawl, backstroke). Continue to build upon the scissor and dolphin kick by adding arms. The back crawl, breaststroke and turning at a wall are introduced.
LEVEL 5 - STROKE REFINEMENT:(Ages 6-17 years) Coordinate and refine strokes. Participants refine their performance and distance of the front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke and sidestroke. Flip turns are also introduced.
LEVEL 6 - SWIMMING & SKILL PROFICIENCY: Refine the strokes so students swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Level 6 is designed with “menu” options Options include: Personal Water Safety, Lifeguard Readiness, Fundamentals of Diving and Fitness Swimmer.
