Mason grew up in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah, and spent much of his time outdoors. He later spent several years in southern Utah, where he worked as a guide and later owned an outdoor tour business. He came to Montrose for the opportunity to join MRD and expand his experience in community recreation. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, stargazing, off-roading, and travel.
