Betsey was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She earned both her B.S. in Sport Management and an M.S. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from North Carolina State University. In 2022, she moved to Colorado to begin her doctoral studies at the University of Northern Colorado, where she lived in Greeley until relocating to Montrose on New Years day. While at UNCo, she worked for the City of Greeley as a Youth Sports Supervisor, an experience that solidified her passion for recreation and youth programming and led her to pursue the Youth Programming Leader position here. Outside of work, Betsey enjoys ultramarathon running, hiking, and recently birding. Anything that gets her dog, her partner and herself outside! Betsey's pronouns are she/her/hers.
