Adapted fitness training is a program focusing on adapting workouts for each individual in the class with disabilities, following their physician’s guidance. The training is tailored towards adapted competition lifting movements, such as squats, deadlifts, and bench press. Registration and a physician’s clearance are required prior to participating, so be sure to register early. Bio
With over a decade of experience as an occupational therapist and coaching sports, I love working with the special needs population. Health and Fitness is a lifestyle and should be taught more in schools, having a disability puts you at an ever higher risk for depression and obesity. Providing functional training and education to enjoy a healthy life even with a disability is my goal.
