50+ Adventures and Tours
We will learn about this common to exotic pet shop that supplies all your small animal and reptile needs. Geyser Systems manufactures a hot portable shower that uses less than one gallon of water and is ready in as few as 5 minutes!

Socialize and meet new friends while taking a leisurely stroll around different areas in Montrose (2 mi or less). We will have dinner either before or after the walk (depending on temperature). If the walk isn’t for you, you can just meet us for dinner!

The 1 hour ride on Snodgrass Mountain has a little bit of everything you look for on a mountain trail ride. We ride through wildflower fields, cross streams, pass beaver ponds and wind a bit though an aspen grove before returning to the stables. Maximum weight of rider: 225#

TEI Rock Drills is the leading manufacturer of excavator drill attachments, rock drill components and limited access drill rigs. Wild Horse Wine and Whiskey is located in the former Tiffany’s, Etc. building. They are an upscale saloon featuring wines and whiskeys primarily sourced from Colorado businesses.

One of the grandest scenic drives in the American West, the 23-mile Rim Rock Drive offers red rock canyons, crisp blue skies, and glorious views along the way. We will stop at overlooks for photos and taking in the views.

Third Bowl Ice Cream moved their production from Crested Butte and are growing their market by producing excellent ice cream using products from local farms. ShadeScapes is an international outdoor umbrella and furnishings company. Big B’s produces delicious hard cider. All of these businesses operate in downtown Hotchkiss!

Re-live the exciting days in 1968 when Ridgway was transformed into Fort Smith, Arkansas and John Wayne came to town. Our guide takes us to downtown filming locations and shares insights about Ridgway's film history along with anecdotes about the Duke. 6 blocks walking; ~45 minute tour. Lunch and shopping prior to tour.

This turn-of-the-century jewel was completed in 1902 by industrialist and coal magnate John Cleveland Osgood. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the Castle provides a unique glimpse into the personal styles and social culture of America’s elite at the turn of the 20th Century.

Elsewhere’s residency program welcomes visual artists, writers, poets, musicians, scientists, teachers, etc. The Blue Sage Center for the Arts offers a variety of classes, live music, talks, and gallery exhibits and remains open to the community for event and class rental space.

Jon Horn will share the points of interest along the North Branch of the Old Spanish Trail (OST) and discuss why Antoine Robidoux picked the strategic location for Fort Uncompahgre. There are 5 stops where the trail will be interpreted. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Not a lot of walking.

This is a 2.5 mile RT loop that takes about 1 ½ hours to complete. 485’ elevation gain: Difficulty - generally considered easy.

We will travel 2 miles up through forest and meadows to the rim of the mesa with views of Mesa Creek. Difficulty – moderate. There is a steady climb at high elevation 9,798’ to 10,403’.

Keystone Gorge is a lovely trail that winds along the San Miguel River through a pine forest and aspen groves. You’ll even get to see some old mining ruins along the way. 2.5 mile loop; 508 ft elevation gain; hike is considered moderate. We will eat in Telluride following the hike.

Devils Kitchen - Gradual ascent to a natural opening formed by a circle by huge upright boulders. Mileage: 1.5 mi RT; Difficulty- Moderate; Elevation: 4,990 to 5,060 ft. We will hike ~1 ½ mi of the Old Gordon Trail which was originally a toll road. 220’ elevation gain.
