Pickin’ in the Park – Paonia

Enjoy performances by: Carsie Blanton, Jackson Emmer and Woodnote. There are food booths and a libation tent which features exclusively local beer and wine.

True Grit Walking Tour

Re-live the exciting days in 1968 when Ridgway was transformed into Fort Smith, Arkansas and John Wayne came to town. Our guide takes us to downtown filming locations and shares insights about Ridgway's film history along with anecdotes about the Duke. 6 blocks walking; ~45 minute tour. Lunch and shopping prior to tour.

TLC Kitchen - Paonia

The Learning Council (TLC) kitchen crew works out of a commercial kitchen and provides locally sourced meals to the community by donation. We will learn about what TLC does and we will assist in making the community meal and then eat!

Redstone Castle Tour
This turn-of-the-century jewel was completed in 1902 by industrialist and coal magnate John Cleveland Osgood. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the Castle provides a unique glimpse into the personal styles and social culture of America’s elite at the turn of the 20th Century.

Egyptian Theater and the Delta County Historical Museum

The historic 1928 Delta Egyptian Theater is a great example of the Egyptian Revival style that was created through the 1922 discovery of King Tut’s Tomb. Our tour includes a history lecture about the venue including the lobby, auditorium, backstage, and projector room. We will tour the Delta Historical Museum as well.

Art Tours – Blue Sage Center for the Arts and Elsewhere Studios
Elsewhere’s residency program welcomes visual artists, writers, poets, musicians, scientists, teachers, etc. The Blue Sage Center for the Arts offers a variety of classes, live music, talks, and gallery exhibits and remains open to the community for event and class rental space.

Old Spanish Trail Field Trip
Jon Horn will share the points of interest along the North Branch of the Old Spanish Trail (OST) and discuss why Antoine Robidoux picked the strategic location for Fort Uncompahgre. There are 5 stops where the trail will be interpreted. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Not a lot of walking.
