• Register for the NEW Youth Outdoor Adventure Club now!!! This brand new program will teach your children essential outdoor skills that will stick with them forever. Let your child take advantage of all the outdoor fun Montrose has to offer. Instruction includes orienteering, hiking, rock climbing, camping and fishing. Fee is $40. • 50+ Billiards Tournament May 1. Don't sink your 8 ball too soon at this sporting tournament. Tournament is held at the Senior Center in the Montrose Pavilion, 10:00 am. It's just $2.50 to enter. For more information call Amy, 252-4884.
• Experienced RiderCourse May 4. Register now for this motorcycle rider course designed to refresh riding skills and refine your skills. The course is specifically for those that KNOW what they are doing on a motorcyle. Fee is $64 per person. Click here to download a printable registration form.
• Registration for the NEW Youth Disc Golf Club begins May 5. Children will play the disc golf courses in Montrose, Telluride and Olathe in this brand new program. Volunteer & Employee of the Quarter
Congratulations to our Volunteer and Employee of the Quarter.
Nicholas & Jennifer Parish were named MRD's Volunteers of the Quarter for 1st Quarter 2008. The Parish's volunteer their time to run the Drop-In Climbing Wall and have improved the program immensely. They are also volunteering their time to expose Montrose youth to the benefits of climbing both inside and out! Thank you for your dedicated service.
Tom Thomas, Sports Programming Supervisor, was named MRD's Employee of the Quarter for the 1st Quarter 2008. Tom has been with the district for 36 years. In addition to developing and coordinating all adult sport programs, Tom's experience in drafting has been invaluable to MRD. He recently developed various plans for renovations and construction projects.
