• Adult Drop-In Soccer: This is a laid back soccer league with all levels of play. Pay when you play - drop-in for just $3. For more information call Tom Thomas, Sports Programming Supervisor, 249-7831 x13.

• Star Party & Sunset BBQ at Blue Mesa: Have sunset BBQ at Blue Mesa and then enjoy a program from the Black Canyon Astronomical Society about constellations, mythology, the galaxy and much more! For more information call Amy Rowan, 50+/Recreation Coordinator, 252-4884.

• 7th & 8th Grade Girls Basketball: This program doesn't conflict with middle school basketball programs and lets your daughter enjoy more of the sport she loves. • 50+ Pattern Partner Dance Class: Grab a parnter and sign up for this 4-week dance class. Learn a variety of dances, such as the Waltz, Cha-Cha, Two Step, Rumba and mixer dances. Volunteer & Employee of the Quarter

Congratulations to our Volunteer and Employee of the Quarter.

Steve Woods was named our Employee and Volunteer of the Quarter for the 2nd Quarter of 2008. Woods worked for the Montrose Recreation District for 8.5 years, serving as our Buildings Maintenance Supervisor. He brought invaluable experience with him, which include construction, concrete work and much more. We will miss him. Woods is leaving MRD to spend his days fishing with his boys in Nebraska!

Woods was also a dedicated volunteer coach year after year. He coached multiple youth sports including soccer, basketball and baseball during his time in Montrose. We thank him for all the positive encouragement he gave to countless Montrose youth and for making our programs that much better!

Every month on the first Wednesday of the month the Montrose Recreation District can send you our E-Letter. We'll keep you up to date on what's happening at the District and you'll never miss your favorite activity again.

In association with the NFL, the Montrose Recreation District will host this FREE competition for all boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15 years old. Boys and girls will compete in different divisions.

The winner in each age group will move on to the regional competition where they will have a chance to move onto the state championships at Invesco Field before a Denver Broncos Game.

No pre-registration is required for this event. Come and play on the MHS Football Field on Friday night under the lights.
