SUMMER FUN WITH MRD

Summertime - it’s the time of year when we look forward to being outside. The Montrose Recreation District provides many opportunities to enjoy all of the benefits of living in Montrose. The staff of the Recreation District is dedicated to providing quality programs for the entire Montrose community, whether you’re interested in outdoor sports like soccer & lacrosse or taking advantage of Montrose’s unique geography in a hiking or rafting class. The Montrose Recreation District also offers many other enrichment activities which are held indoors in various locations throughout the community.

As the community grows the staff at MRD is continuosly exploring all the changing needs of the community. This summer we’ve added numerous new programs including a youth outdoor adventure club, adult sand volleyball, recreational mountain biking trips and even a 50+ hiking club.

The MRD Board of Directors is focused on the community’s future recreation needs and is working towards expanding the existing MRD Aquatic Center. If you or your family has participated in any of the great programs offered by MRD, I encourage you to support any future expansion of indoor programming space. With more indoor programming space, MRD would be able to add more fun and affordable recreation programs throughout the entire year instead limiting new programs to the summer months.

Summer is a time to dust off the winter blues and enjoy all that is available in Montrose. Sign up for any of the programs provided by MRD and you’ll find summer even more enjoyable than usual!

MRD Board of Directors Meeting Schedule

All Montrose Recreation District Board of Directors meetings are open to the public.
The meetings are scheudled for 12:00/noon at the Montrose Recreation District Administration Office, 2104 South Rio Grande. Typically the meetings are on the fourth Thursday of each month, however, alternate days are sometimes chosen.

The following dates have been selected for the MRD Board of Directors meetings for 2008.
