I was born number 5 in a family of 6 children, we were raised on a farm near a small rural community of Stromsburg, the Swedish Capital of Nebraska, which is my nationality. Being raised on a large farm, we had plenty of work with pigs, chickens and 700+ of irrigated row crops, we spent our summers moving gated pipe for irrigating every morning and our days on the tractor. After graduation I moved to West Point, was married and gave birth to one son, Dustin and 2 daughters, Heather and Brittany. They are all now married and settled in Nebraska and Iowa and so far have blessed me with 2 Grandsons and 2 Granddaughters. In 2006 I moved to Montrose, beginning part time at Montrose Recreation District, moved into full time and truly love working for MRD. I enjoy hiking, landscaping, sewing, painting and this area that allows for wonderful opportunities -like a vacation in your back yard.
John WagnerJohn grew up in Colorado Springs playing competitive soccer and enjoying the outdoor adventures that Colorado offers. These opportunities fostered a love for recreation and fitness and helped John decide to pursue a degree in Outdoor Recreation and Instruction and a minor in Sports and Exercise Science from Western State College in Gunnison, CO. After college, John's love of adventure and exploration took him from the mountains of Colorado to the depths of the Atlantic as he attended graduate school at East Carolina University and worked as a professional Underwater Archaeologist. Ultimately, the beauty and openness of Colorado and John's love for fitness and recreation won out and he decided to return and settle in Montrose where he can "Play Anywhere".
