Group Fitness Class Descriptions

Barre – A high energy fitness experience that fuses exercise techniques from the worlds of Pilates, body sculpting, ballet, and yoga. This full body workout incorporates weights, exercise balls and mat exercises. It is perfect for people of all fitness and experience levels.

Body Sculpting – Using a variety of equipment, instructors will take you through a workout that will challenge all the major muscle groups! This class is designed to strengthen and tone your entire body.

Dance Fitness - A full body workout that is a lot of fun. Focus is on cardiovascular exercise as well as toning. Instructors incorporate different styles of dance, fitness moves, and music to optimize your Dance Fitness experience. Choreography is simple and easy to learn, with a combination of dance styles, including Latin rhythms, Hip Hop, and Country, just to name a few. A “Happy Hour” guaranteed to make you sweat, smile, and feel great! Please join us! This isn’t your Mama’s Zumba!

Fitness Fusion - A fun class packed with a little bit of everything fitness & fun! Starting with a warm up, moving into a walking/dance session to get your heart rate up, then onto light weights and/or bands for the strength portion, followed by more moving. Sprinkling in some Balance, Tai Chi, Yoga, and a Cool Down - all the while inspiring a whole lotta fun! Come for the fitness & stay for the fun or come for the fun & stay for the fitness!

Functional Fitness, Balance, and Fall Prevention – Participants may use a chair, cane, or walker as needed. Class includes warm-up, functional strengthening and conditioning, fall prevention, stretching and cool-down. Class uses small weights and resistance bands to improve mobility, stability, strength, coordination, and balance. Gain confidence in staying on your feet, build strength, and practice negotiating obstacles and walking patterns to improve agility, balance, neuromuscular coordination, and reaction times.

Flow Yoga – seeks to familiarize us with common sequences and transitions that allow for greater inward focus throughout class while simultaneously expanding our repertoire of asanas. Fluid transitions and longer holds in poses encourage an exploration into all parts of our being. A focus on alignment supports a deeper and safer practice with increased self- and body-awareness. Each class is typically designed around a specific body group (eg hips & hamstrings), and the sequence is then designed to warm up this region while working toward a “peak pose.” Other yogic practices such as mudra (hand gestures), pranayama (breath practice), and meditation may be woven throughout the flow sequence to ground you and round out the experience. (Those new to yoga will benefit from a beginners yoga class prior to attending Flow.)

Gentle Stretch, Breathwork & Meditation – Equal parts gentle movement, stretching, breathwork and guided meditation. We will move our spines and breath in order to prepare the mind for stillness and to find inner peace and calmness. Step back into the world with less stress, more ease and an increased ability to be actively calm and calmly active.

SilverSneakers Circuit – This standing class alternates upper-body strength work with low-impact cardio to maximize fitness benefits.

SilverSneakers Classic – Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living.

SilverSneakers Yoga – Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement.

Spinning – This indoor cycling class provides all the terrain you need - hills, climbs, flats, and more! Spin helps you increase strength and endurance and is easy on the joints. Arrive early to get your bike adjusted.

Tai Chi – Known as moving meditation and can be done by anyone. This form (based on Sun Style & some Chen) is extremely gentle on joints and increases strength in the back and abdominal muscles. It is excellent for balance, easing stress, relaxing, and invigorating the body all while quieting the mind.

TRX – This class is one of the most effective and innovative ways to challenge core strength and stability while building muscle and increasing cardiovascular endurance using TRX suspension straps. All levels are welcome.

Vinyasa Yoga – a more advanced and rigorous style of yoga in which poses are linked through a flowing sequence that is coordinated with the breath. This style of yoga seeks to build internal heat in support of opening the joints and muscles.  Synching breath and movement assists in quieting the busy mind and dropping into the rhythm of the body. Not recommended for beginners.

Yoga – Practice various poses and sequences designed to improve strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. This class is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

Zumba – A Latin inspired cardio-dance workout. No special skills required. Join the party!
